Randal's vineyard philosophy is to take an organic approach, work with nature and treat the vineyard as a whole organism, mimicking the characteristics of the natural system, promoting diversity and allowing a natural balance to develop within the soil.
Randal’s interest in vines and wines lead him to development of the Soilworks Vibrosoiler and Soilworks precision ripping and development technology in 2000. Since then he has developed some of the leading vineyards in Australia such as Taylors, Penfolds, Grange & Henshcke. His company, Soilworks Australia, is recognised as the industry leader in vineyard development.
With over 20 years' farming experience he devoted the past 10 years to create his Tomich Wines label .The wines promote the elegance and finesse of the region, highlighting the purity of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Ever the innovator, Randal has launched a unique city-based cellar door on King William Road at Unley.
