Rod Windrim Vigneron Hunter Story by Krinklewood Biodynamic Vineyard

The more Rod Windrim learns, the more there is to learn. Krinklewood's focus on biodiversity means growing herb gardens; sowing grasses and flowers; running livestock. It’s exciting, rewarding and...outrageously addictive.

BD is better for the environment, better for the people who work and live on the property and it ultimately gives the team at Krinklewood better quality wine.

The Biodynamic inputs from the many farm animals and gardens add to the all-important vineyard bio-diversity; to create the ‘purest’ Krinklewood wines.

The team have recently planted an extensive herb garden to provide ingredients for the many biodynamic preparations used throughout the lunar calendar. Farm animals are also at home on the property and contribute to the Biodynamic activity, including cows, sheep, pigs, horses, ducks, chickens, peacocks and bees.

Krinklewood works with the rhythms of nature and biodiversity.

It has been operating biodynamically since 2002. Now the vineyard has settled into its own natural rhythm and lunar calendar cycle. With no artificial inputs, over time, they have seen the characteristics of their fruit become wholly and truly ‘Krinklewood’.
