Wattle Ridge Vineyard is situated in Greenbushes, 260 kilometres south of Perth in the beautiful south-west of Western Australia.
Greenbushes was first settled in the mid 1800s as a farming, timber and tin mining area. Historic records of the area show in 1904, the Greensborough community included 159 Miners, 9 storekeepers, 8 builders, 7 carpenters, solicitors mining agents, chemists, butchers, bakers, tailors, bootmakers, a blacksmith and two tinsmiths.
In appreciation of these pioneers, the name chosen for our first vintage was derived from the local history, giving a sense of location, belonging and creating a curiosity about the wine that reflects the region’s heritage. Named the “Two Tinsmiths”, this wine series has lived up to the winery’s expectations by achieving award-winning status from the industry in its first and subsequent years.
In an ongoing recognition of area’s heritage, Wattle Ridge names each new vintage of Two Tinsmiths Cabernet a name of a historical Mining tenement, such as Spring Gully, KingTin & Old Bishop.
