Since it’s inception, DOWIE DOOLE has had a love and commitment to a fascinating variety that is not widely popular in Australia: Chenin Blanc.
“A combination of mature vines, sandy soils (naturally reducing yields) and location (in the cooler foothills), all contribute to growing intensely varietal Chenin Blanc fruit,” said Drew, “and it offers a real alternative to the almighty Sauvignon Blanc.”
“Because of the ‘natural’ conditions that we have to produce such premium Chenin Blanc, we have the opportunity to become an Australian ‘hero’ for this variety; and we are committed to this end” added Drew.
DOWIE DOOLE’s committment to this variety has led them to produce an oaked reserve Chenin Blanc, inspired by the Loire Valley; the great Chenin region of the world.
