A legendary Hunter Valley wine family have combined with one of the most iconic Chateau’s in the Barossa Valley to bring Australia some of the country’s best wines
Nestled in a private valley in the famous Barossa Valley is Chateau Yaldara, the South Australian home of McGuigan Wines. The Chateau, modelled on European design made of stone - sits on the site of a former 1870s flourmill atop a hill overlooking the North Para River.
Chateau Yaldara is the perfect home for McGuigan in the Barossa Valley with a reputation for nurturing some of Australia’s oldest vines it specialises in premium wine production from dry-grown vineyards and small batch processing through its traditional open-top fermentation tanks. One of only two wineries left in the Barossa that utilises these old style fermenters it uses both hand plunging and header boards for mixing small, premium parcels. The marriage of sixty years of Barossa Valley winemaking with four generations of McGuigan passion and commitment to Australian wine has resulted in a wonderful collection of wines and a delightful cellar door experience.
