Since that day Peter has been plying his trade at numerous wineries in the region creating beautifully structured and award-winning wines.

Why has he stayed in the Hunter? He says that “the Hunter is a region that has it all!” It's Australia’s oldest winemaking region with over 150 years’ history. It's a region renowned for housing numerous famous winemaking families, all instrumental in getting Australian wine to where they are now. Of these families, the McGuigan’s have been an important part of the region for four generations.

Besides history, McGuigan is renowned for making exceptional quality wine and Peter is a major contributor with the highly-commended BIN Semillon and Personal Reserve wines all under his watchful eye. Peter’s passion doesn’t just apply to wine but the area which he insists is not just a wine destination. Mild climate coupled with beautiful beaches make the Hunter a great place to live.
