Jason Brown, Winegrower, Hilltops

Jason Brown Winegrower Hilltops Story by Moppity Vineyards

There was a time when Jason pictured himself belting out tunes on his beloved guitar with the likes of Bono. Today they are about ‘big red cars’ and ‘hot potatoes’.

There are three things in Jason’s life that motivate him; his family, Moppity Wines, and his guitar. Now a father of three with his wife Alecia, Jason no longer spends time doing gigs with his band ‘Shank’. His days are spent juggling their young family and their growing Moppity brand.

The couple purchased the 37-year-old, 170 acre vineyard in the Hilltops region in 2005.

When their goal of selling fruit struck some unforseen challenges and came to an abrupt holt, the pair launched Moppity. The brand is now one of Australia’s fastest growing and putting Southern NSW and Hilltops wines back on the map for the right reasons.

If raising kids is not enough of a challenge, Moppity is taking on the world and winning acclaim. Trophies at international wine shows were more than enough to continue to drive Jason and Alecia; success really does come from adversity.
