Making wine in McLaren Vale is a rewarding pastime but it’s the whole lifestyle of living near the beach, with access to fabulous Fleurieu restaurants and local produce which makes one ask, why would you want to be anywhere else?

When he’s not watching over maturation in the Barrel Hall with a valence and glass, there's bike trails, farmers markets, snorkeling and walking the dogs on the beach to keep him off the couch. There's always something to do on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, and at the heart of it, the McLaren Vale wine region is producing amazing wines.

Scott can also be found in his kitchen creating some culinary delights to (hopefully) match the wine selected. His need to ‘make stuff’ extends to his other favourite place – the Shed, where he occupies his spare time cutting larger pieces of timber into smaller pieces. Occasionally he creates something useful.
