Viewed from 40000ft when Chris Cormack is working on a Qantas flight , Afghanistan is a stunning beautiful landscape, but doesn't compare to the heavenly place where he grows vines.
As well as being able to pursue his passion to produce ultra premium wine from his own Macedon Ranges vineyard , Chris is also privileged to show people from all over the world how good our Australian wines are when they travel on an International Qantas flight.
In his role as an onboard Sommelier and Fiight Attendant, Chris draws on 35 years' experience in the Australian wine industry to explain the great variety and styles that Australia produces and which Qantas showcases on their flights
Chris grows his Pinot Noir and Riesling in one of the coolest sites in Australasia and has even picked grapes in July! The close planted, dry grown vineyard was one of the first vineyards of this type to be developed in Australia's modern era and Chris ensures his vineyard practices have minimal impact on the native ecology.
