The Schrapel family's aim is to live well, care for the land and hand their winery and vineyards to the next generation in a better position than when they started.
The Schrapel family planted their first vineyard in Bethany in 1852 from cuttings carefully nursed from Europe. More than a century later in 1981, fifth generation descendants, brothers Geoff and Robert Schrapel, established Bethany Wines in a quarry, where the pioneers had hewn stone for their homes, high in the Barossa Ranges overlooking the family's vineyards and the historic village of Bethany.
The greatest natural advantage Bethany Wines has is the fruit which comes from the family's vineyards. Geoff and Robert's philosophy is to produce exceptional wines that show the true flavours of their vineyards and that are a natural reflection of the microclimate of the Barossa Ranges.
In creating a unique wine experience for family, friends and lovers of wine, they wish to share the sense of place that is Bethany.
