Nigel Ludlow, Winemaker, Margaret River

Nigel Ludlow Winemaker Margaret River Story by Barwick Wines

Barwick Wines in WA is mindful of its environment - after all, its initial vineyard was discovered and nurtured by pioneers over 100 years ago.

With its winery in Margaret River and vineyards in Pemberton and Blackwood Valley, the Barwick Wines’ team has earned a reputation for consistency, high quality and innovation.

Winemaker Nigel Ludlow and the team bring a truly Western Australian wine experience to life - whether it’s with visitors to the picturesque cellar door - The Red Shed - or consumers enjoying the wine. 'State of the art'; 'new'; 'efficient'; significant'; ever-changing' - are all superlatives that have been used to describe the winery.

As well as the commitment to producing innovative wine, Barwick Wines is also committed to the environment, with significant wetlands on all its sites. They’re keen to protect these wetlands and develop them for viewing the range of flora and fauna growing and living in here. A selection of orchids, water birds, kangaroos and reptiles all live in the regions, forming a warm welcome party for visitors.
