From its conception over a long lunch among four winemakers, a parcel of land in the heart of Pokolbin with "First Creek" as its northern border was chosen as the site for the winery. The vision was to establish a large, modern winemaking & bottling facility producing quality fruit into premium table wine.

First Creek has become a significant premium wine brand, and the facilities and winemakers are sought after by other wine companies to help produce their wines.

Allanmere is now made at First Creek by Greg Silkman reminding him of his first solo winemaking achievement. It continues to remind him of the passion and enthusiasm he had when he produced his first wine and the pride of seeing the great success of this small wine brand. Today it's a source of great value wines and a super premium Chardonnay - the flagship of Allanmere for over 20 years.
