Hogan family, five generations of Western Australians deeply ingrained in their home state, family interests in sheep grazing and forestry in the Great Southern district dating back to the 1860s.
It is the belief of their winemaker, Martin Cooper, that the alchemy of winemaking takes a back seat to the grape quality coming from the their three vineyards which make up the Xabregas estate.
Since the establishment of the Xabregas estate in 1996, their winemaker has discovered that each of their three vineyards: the Figtree lane vineyard, the Spencer rd vineyard and the Stockyard vineyard have unique distinct personalities.
The Hogan family envisages developing these personalities with a particular emphasis on their region’s strengths: Riesling and Shiraz.
Their focus goes beyond the concept of new world wines, it doesn’t adhere to the stereotype of the world view of an Australian style, rather Xabregas focuses on bringing the unique expression of their vineyard estate to the fore, with every bottle of wine coming from their 125Ha estate.
