Michael Kerrigan has spent 20 years working with vineyards all over Western Australia so when the opportunity came to purchase an iconic pioneer Margaret River vineyard he didn't blink!
Hay Shed Hill is a stunningly beautiful vineyard in the heart of the Willyabrup valley, the premier vineyard locality of Margaret River. Originally, it was a group settlement dairy farm for returned soldiers from WWI.
The old hay shed from the dairy days was a local landmark, hence the name Hay Shed Hill. The vineyard was established in 1975 during the original pioneer phase of vineyard plantings in Margaret River and featured the varieties that put the region on the world wine map.
Today, owner and winemaker Michael Kerrigan has returned to the simple principles of making Estate grown wines that reflect the quality of the vineyard.
There is also the Hay Shed Deli Café on the property, offering a stunning array of local and international cheeses, small goods and gourmet products. Guests can enjoy this exciting modern food in the old winery overlooking the spectacular vineyard.
