Optimiste Wines vineyards are planted high in the hills of Mudgee in the central west of NSW.

All Optimiste Wines are single vineyard, estate grown and carefully hand harvested by the Dadd family and made by talented winemaker Michael Slater.

The Dadd family's philosophy is a "glass half full" and as well as being eternal optimists, they have always been determined to "do their bit" for the environment.

Over time they have embraced the basic principles of natural sequence farming - they mulch instead of spraying weeds and take particular care to watch over the precious remnants of pre-colonial vegetation - including 3-400-year-old Yellow Box Trees.

Their payback? They hope their kids will have a better sense of it all and while they know they have a lot to learn, they will keep it at. After all - their glass is half full!
