"Honor nostrorum liverorum pulchrorum" In honour of our lineage. This Latin phrase, noted on the label of the first Mitolo wine, is a fitting reference to the Mitolo Wines story.
Frank Mitolo’s connection with the vineyard began in 1940 when his grandfather Francesco began his working life as a vigneron in Abruzzo, Italy. Two generations later, Frank continued this family association with wine launching Mitolo Wines in Australia in 1999.
In 2000, Frank released his first wine. G.A.M McLaren Vale Shiraz is named after his three children, Gemma, Alex and Marco, emphasising the importance of family and the Mitolo generation to follow.
Whether it be the Jester series or the Single Vineyard range, all Mitolo Wines are named to reflect a milestone, shared moment or encounter in Frank’s life.
Frank’s passion is the uncompromised devotion to developing and growing the finest quality produce. From the vineyard to the table each Mitolo wine is nurtured and developed with this same passion, ensuring that the best of everything is bought together to create wines of individuality, integrity and utmost quality.
