For three decades David and his family have nurtured their prized vineyards – some over 100 years old – in McLaren Vale. It’s this level of care and passion that has produced extraordinary fruit and wines, and gained David the reputation as one of the most accomplished viticulturists in Australia. Even more extraordinary is the fact that David has no formal qualifications - everything he knows is self-taught and learnt from experience.

Paxton vineyards are managed biodynamically and without compromise from planting to harvest. Their mission is simple: showcase the region’s fruit quality, varietal expression and natural diversity.

Away from the vineyard, David enjoys a passion for vintage cars. What started out as a fascination for trucks and tractors as a young boy has evolved into a much loved hobby, and is a great source of ambition for the continued success of Paxton Wines!
