The dinner party that started it all... several years ago, Terry Morris attended a dinner party with friends and mentioned that he had tried a lovely wine from Queensland...
His friends from Victoria laughed and said that there was no such thing as a “good wine from Queensland”… This was all the challenge that Terry needed!
Terry knew that the Granite Belt was the ideal place in Queensland to grow grapes due to the high altitude and cool climate. In 1995 he established Sirromet's vineyards in the Granite Belt, and in 2000, Terry opened the winery, cellar door and award-winning restaurant Lurleen's as a tourist attraction at Mount Cotton.
Did Terry Morris succeed? The results speak for themselves…
Ten years later, the Sirromet family now includes 140 employees spread over two locations, and Sirromet has won more than 450 national and international awards and accolades for both their wines and venue.
Sirromet has expanded to include a large network of national business partners and also exports its wines to USA, China, Hong Kong, Japan, NZ, and Fiji.
