The Surmons planted Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon 15 years ago along with new varieties Nebbiolo, Pinot Gris and Viognier to challenge palate experience - just to be different. They believe these award-winning wines lead the way among the "alternatives".
From the beginning they developed an environmentally friendly vineyard - with a minimum use of chemicals, the planting of 500 Trees for Life annually, low use of their own water, generation of their own electricity and the creation of an award-winning Water Wise Garden. All this helps achieve a gentle footprint.
The Surmons also offer a complete tourism experience in their modern cellar door: award winning wines, professional art gallery with regular new exhibitions, local food platters, spectacular vistas and romantic studio apartment accommodation.
