Guy & Liz Adams Winegrower Langhorne Creek Story by Brothers in Arms

Guy Adams and his wife Liz head up a team that is rejuvenating the historic Langhorne Creek region with its estate produced Shiraz and Cabernets off the acclaimed "Metala" vineyards.

Guy's great-great grandfather William Formby purchased the "Metala" property in 1882, planting the first vines with his son Arthur in 1891 comprising two acres each of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Plantings doubled in 1894 with the planting of four acres of Shiraz. These vines continue to flourish today with the Cabernet Sauvignon regarded as the oldest officially recorded Cabernet Sauvignon in the world still growing on its own rootstocks.

Today the vineyard totals 300 hectares, comprising of 42 blocks, with Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon the predominant varieties, but there's also Chardonnay, Malbec and Petit Verdot.

Their winemaking philosophy revolves around producing wines that convey balance, structure and texture, and that are true to the region and true to the estate.

Langhorne Creek is a very old wine region but there are a number of emerging wineries such as Brothers in Arms that are attracting great interest, so jump on board!!
