What do you do when your a tiny label trying to survive in today's overcrowded wine market? You try and stand out from the crowd.
That's why Phil & Julie Hutton decided to name their wine label after a little frog that resides happily on their property.
His proper name is the Western Banjo Frog but locally he is fondly known as the Bonking Frog because of his distinctive call, a loud "BONK".
The Bonking Frog label celebrates many things - the enjoyment of wine... good food, good wine and good friends, is there anything better?
It also celebrates a love of Merlot as a variety - it's all they grow and produce.
And of course, frogs! Julie believes there is something inherently happy about their frogs. This is undoubtedly linked to the couple’s desire to create a sustainable vineyard.
Happy frogs = happy environment.
