UMAMI Wines is located in the King Valley. The valley has truly some of the country's most exciting microclimates. Seasonal variations and access to unique varieties grown by experienced growers truly benefits the distinctive wines produced. Wines are always crafted with a story and passion.

UMAMI Wines was founded by Edward McDougall in 2007. Edward was brought up with both Chinese and Australian cultures which influenced his understanding and application of Taoism in daily life. Edward believes that positive energy, balance in flavours and understanding the needs of the vineyards right through to the consumer is the key to great wine success.

UMAMI Wines produces 1200 cases each year, with a focus on four wines styles. Sangiovese, Shiraz, Rose and Pinot Gris all fly the UMAMI flag.

Edward also believes that life is too short to have a wine glass only half full. Enjoy life!
