As a boy, Josh Clementson grew up wanting to be a farmer playing in the dirt; life evolved bringing him to a special place called Mudgee; loving dirt and wine.
There is nothing like fulfilling childhood dreams and at Skimstone it's a real family affair.
They grow and make Italian inspired wines and Mudgee is the perfect climate; hot dry weather with cool nights. Their patch of dirt is unique, their vines are embedded in rock (and maybe even gold) and they produce very low yields with incredible depth and flavour.
Josh loves extracting the best out of the earth and making it into something elegant, tangible and something for everyone to taste and enjoy with their favourite foods, particularly Italian-inspired fare.
Josh's family loves living in Mudgee; kids skimming stones on the river; dad and the kids playing in the dirt then making wine and mum growing and cooking produce to match their beautiful wines.
He's hoping his children grow up loving the land as much as he does - playing in the dirt and skimming stones.
