Getting his hands dirty in the vineyard and even building the state-of-the-art Matilda’s Winery in 2006, Coby Ladwig isn’t one to shy away from a challenge.
Since his days running the vineyard from the homestead on the estate, Coby has created some truly outstanding wines.
His love for the Great Southern started at childhood in his hometown of Denmark; a stunning coastal town on the south coast of Western Australia. The picturesque landscape, pristine environment and unique growing conditions have kept Coby in this peaceful town for most of his life. Leaving for a few years to study winemaking, Coby has returned to Denmark to pursue a career in crafting premium wines, originally studying under renowned wine maker and ex West Cape Howe owner, Brenden Smith.
In his spare time, Coby captains the local Denmark Walpole Magpies Football Club and has been at the helm for the past four years. Being 400km from WA's capital, Perth, Denmark is an up and coming food and wine producing area that is sure to satisfy the most discerning palates.
