Take a group of Coonawarra artists, give them a pile of hand-pruned vine cuttings, a weekend with plenty of good, food & wine, and some impressive artworks emerge.
As pruning commences at Zema Estate, vine cuttings are carefully collected for use at the annual Vine and Wine Sculpture Marathon and Installation.
Starting in 2006 and initially featuring the artwork of one artist, this annual event has now grown to include a weekend sculpting 'marathon' and features the work of six local artists.
From weaving, twisting, cutting & bending the canes, creations to date have included large human forms, a viking ship, birds, a pair of boots, an angel and more..
The installation runs annually from 1 July to 30 August annually and is adjacent to the Cellar Door and free to view.
