Henry's Drive Vignerons is named after the proprietor of the 19th century mail coach service that once ran through the Padthaway pastoral property of the Longbottom family.
As third generation pastoralists turned vignerons, Kim and her late husband Mark felt it was important to have an authentic brand story that involved some of the local history. This true regional story is also reflected in the characteristics of the wines themselves. The unique concept and wine names were created by researching the history of the postal system in the area and the 'postal stamp' logo even includes the Padthaway postcode, 5271.
With wine names such as Dead Letter Office, Pillar Box, The Postmistress and Morse Code - the postal theme is reflected across all aspects of the brand. The Cellar Door boasts its own original Pillar Box and offers travellers respite from the road; as many locals offered Henry Hill and his horses in the mail coach days.
