Riesling, rally cars and raising money may not appear to have any immediate connection to most but it certainly does for Canberra District vigneron Graeme Shaw.
Graeme successfully mixes his passion for wine, as Shaw Vineyard Estate owner and vigneron, with his love for rally cars and support of childrens cancer charity, Camp Quality.
Aside from running one of the largest privately owned vineyards in the Canberra District (85 acres), Graeme is an avid rally competitor and also sponsors a car each year to raise funds for charity.
In addition, the Shaw family has created the Shaw Vineyard Estate range 'Laughter Series' from which 40% of proceeds is donated to Camp Quality for every case purchased.
Giving back is important to the Shaw family and although the Canberra wine region is relatively new in comparison to some other Australian wine regions, Graeme is constantly championing the regions ability to produce a wide range of styles at consistently high levels.
This is evidenced by the international success achieved by wines from the region.
