David Mackintosh Vigneron Heathcote Story by Wanted Man Vineyard

Heathcote's red Cambrian dirt is hard and ancient, nearly 500 million years old. The region's story speaks of the bushrangers, the outlaws and the farmers who toil on the land.

Heathcote is a region of diversity. Diversity of personalities, wine styles and terroir. From the cool southerly stone outcropped vineyards of Tooborac through the hard Cambrian heart and out to the lush region of Colbinabbin, Heathcote's wines speak of their soil and their place.

The Wanted Man Vineyard is an escarpment that looks to the North East, across the McIvor Highway, into the full Summer sun. The Cambrian rocks and quartz are heated throughout the day and at night release their warmth back to the vines, protecting them from the typically cold nights.

The wines are expressive, absurdly deep and bright in colour, violently aromatic with spice, violets and pen ink leaping from the glass, while the dry and firm tannins and fresh acidity reveal wines of structure, finesse and wonderful aging potential.
