Neil and Andrew Pike
Winemaker
Clare Valley
Story by Pikes
Like father, like son. The Pike family has a history in beverages: from great grandfather and brewer; to father and grapegrower; to son's Andrew and Neil who make wine.
Pikes was established in the beautiful Clare Valley back in 1984, and from humble beginnings the Pike brothers have carved a niche for themselves in Australia's wine community.
The Pike family pride themselves on producing wines that reflect their variety, vintage and importantly the region.
The champion and workhorse variety of the region is Riesling. First planted in the Clare Valley some 150 years ago, the Riesling grape flourishes in the cool environment, and is considered to be one of the best regions for this variety in the world.
With more than 25 years in the region and a passion for wine, it's more than likely the next generation of Pikes will keep up the family tradition, producing crisp, fresh, zesty whites, and elegant, generous well structured reds from the Clare Valley.
